It was an idea born from when Shrewsbury band The Clocktower supported the Happy Mondays earlier this year.

Bez turned up at The Brooklands Pub in Shrewsbury…eventually, as  organisers were starting to feel a bit hot under the collar.

But they were lucky as Bez and his DJ Vince Vega were due back in Manchester that same evening… whoops!

It was after 12.30am when I left DJ Vince with his dancing partner Bez, who were both looking very at home with organisers Ben from The Brooklands and The Clocktower band member Andy O’Brien.

DJ Vince Vega and Bez put on a great show for the fans, who had waited patiently, giving them a good two hours of mad dancing and great music.

The pair work well together, whilst Vince plays a catalogue of great music, Bez dances and chants over the music, getting the crowds in the mood, with some fans joining them on stage with some serious dancing!

I must admit, although Bez was slightly worse for wear, he was extremely friendly, down to earth and very funny.

DJ Vince Vega and Big Brother Star Bez helped raise the spirits of the wet Shropshire town, whilst raising funds for local charity Hope House, a Children’s Charity based in Oswestry.

There were various bands playing throughout the day including the Shrewsbury band The Clocktower.

Ben, one of the organisers and owner of The Brooklands Hotel said that “It was a busy night and even with over 15 bar staff on it was not enough. It was manic.”

Over 200 people  attended the show and the atmosphere was great. It was nice to see so many people attend an event that wasn’t in the town centre.

Unfortunately the children’s attractions, which included fairground rides and bouncy castles, were  cancelled due to the weather on the day.

I recently read somewhere that Bez had stopped dancing for the Happy Mondays because he felt too old, but crikey he knows how to have a good time and can certainly dance his little socks off.

I spoke to DJ Vince and Bez after their appearance at the weekend and hope to be promoting more of the dance duo’s events on www.britevents.com, so check us out soon for more manic dance events very soon.
