Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote Oklahoma in 1943, an is set in America’s deep West at turn of the century. During the rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys, a handsome cowboy, called Curley together with a farm girl, called Laurey play out their enduring love story.
All the hit songs from this colourful show will be making an appearance which include ‘Oh What a Beautiful Morning’, ‘Surrey With the Fringe on the Top’ and ‘People Will Say We’re in Love’.
BBC Television’s Mark Evans plays the part of Curley and Marti Webb stars as Aunt Eller, Oklahoma has had glowing recommendations from critics The Stage called it ” A rich, vibrant, exquisitely choreographed toe-tapper of a show”, and Scene One Said ” For my money this production is up there with the best of them”.
